Effect of Multiple Representations on
Students' Understanding of Enzyme Catalysis

Dissertation: Chemists have always relied on representations to understand and communicate the content knowledge of our field. My research focuses on the effect of multiple representations on students' understanding of enzyme catalysis. Within this project I will be specifically looking at how students interpret multiple representations of serine proteases and any misconceptions that may arise with regard to enzyme catalysis.

Cognate Project:
The first project will be introducing inquiry experiments into the senior physical chemistry laboratory that focus upon the use of NMR and biophysical chemistry.
