"The invisibility of Filipino/a content in secondary history textbooks suggests that the growing and vibrant Philippine and Filipino/a American scholarship has not been taken up by textbook authors and teachers and, as a result, has neither effectively contributed to nor challenged what and whose knowledge is taught and learned in schools. The question of, In what ways and to what degree does our scholarship impact the schooling of Filipino/a Americans and the general student body?, is a crucial issue that theorists, researchers, and educators must wrestle with politically, empirically, and pedagogically."

- from his upcoming "Invisible Subjects: Filipino/as in Secondary History Textbooks"
