POL 102:
                 Issues in Global Politics

This is a Miami-Plan course for non-majors. I have tried therefore to design a course that is meant to give you a flavor of what political science majors in comparative and international politics study. We will do some history, which is the foundation of political analysis. We will look at the institutions and policies of three different political systems, one a democracy, another a hybrid state, and the third an authoritarian system. Involved in this analysis is an attempt to compare political cultures as well as institutional developments. We will then examine issue and problems that occur outside the boundaries of sates, i.e. in the international/global domain.
