This
was one of the most interesting productions to work on. The
director wanted to create two worlds - the lush world of nature
and the controlled world of
the priests. The natural world was influenced by Rousseau
and the priests' world by Academia (Bruce had an image of
the priestsas scholars).
The
opera was performed in the Festival Theatre of the Krannert
Center for the Arts.
