RESEARCH AND CLINICAL INTERESTS

My research interests/projects have evolved out of a qualitative and narrative epistemological perspective, and have been applied to topical domains in which gendered identities are at stake. My master’s thesis was a qualitative inquiry into how women’s experience of disclosing childhood sexual abuse to romantic partners impacts their recovery and their romantic relationships. In my current research, I am employing narrative methods to explore how narratives of "what it means to be man" play out in the gendered stories of male therapists and how these stories play a part in the identities male therapists bring to their work. My theoretical orientation is broadly interpersonal/relational/psychodynamic.
