Research interests:

My main area of research interest is in the phenomenology associated with strongly correlated electron systems. The corresponding classes of compounds (cuprates, ruthenates, manganites etc.) exhibit very rich phase diagrams most oftenly not yet completely understood. For example, depending on temperature, magnetic field, pressure or doping, some of these materials can experience transitions between worlds of fascinating ground states at the core of the research in modern condensed matter physics: unconventional superconductivity, unusual magnetic ordering, spin and charge pattern formation in low dimensional crystal structures, heavy fermion systems etc. Most of my research employed experimental techniques such as tunneling spectroscopy (including STM), calorimetry, magnetometry and electro-optical spectroscopy. I’m also interested in spintronics and magnetoelectronic devices involving ultra-thin film microcircuitry.
