| The
Brubaker Bridge
The Brubaker Bridge, built in 1887, can be found on Brubaker Road and crosses Sam's Run Creek. At 90 feet, the Brubaker Bridge is one of seven remaining Child's truss covered bridges left in the United States. Six Child's truss covered bridges are located in Preble County, This particular bridge has an open center panel. The three others have a kingpost center panel. The Brubaker Bridge is unique because the upper portion of the sides of the bridge have been removed to allow light and vison. This exposes the Child's truss. The bridge has a gray shake roof and white board siding. The bridge site has easy access to Sam's Run Creek. The Brubaker Bridge is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
