Hi! My name is Adam K. Heckler.

I'm a recent graduate of Miami University in Ohio.
And yes, I am available for hire!

About Me

My name is Adam and I am, for those of you who don't make assumptions, a dude. I live in the great state of Ohio, where I recently graduated from Miami University with a degree in Political Science. You might know me as Time Magazine's "Person of the Year" for 2006, but what's more important is that I am currently available for hire.

My first love has always been technology. When I was about 7 years old, I got my first computer and promptly started tinkering. In a few months, I had figured out disk partitioning and how to set Minesweeper's high scores to anything I wanted. As a teenager, I became my neighborhood's version of tech support (sadly, this position was unpaid). During my college career, I was hired by VARtek Services as a technical writing intern, since I also possessed (and still do!) above average communication skills. So if it's true that my generation is much more comfortable with technology than any other, I consider myself ahead of the curve.

While attending Miami, I also became enamored with the idea of changing our federal government. Like many others in my generation, I quickly grew frustrated with political inefficiencies and the opaque nature of bureaucracy. I realized that we can do better, so I got my degree in Political Science because I hope that, in some small way, I can help effect change in our political system. Eventually, I would like to see government data and decisions be easily accessible and transparent, and the decision-makers held accountable. This goal is big, I know, but such a remodeling of our government could go a long way toward making our country a better place to live.

My dream job would thus be a position in which I could help reform the latter by way of the former. If this is what your organization does, than I am your perfect candidate. Take a peek at my resumé to see what I can offer you.
