Participation
Studies have repeatedly demonstrated
that students who
participate in their classes earn higher grades than students who do
not.
Participation—in class discussion, in group work, in campus
activities—will
improve your chances of academic success.
There are a variety of ways in which you can
participate in
your own education. You can
--> ask
questions or volunteer answers during class discussions.
--> take notes.
--> study
outside of class.
--> make an
appointment to see your professors outside of class to talk about class materials,
an upcoming assignment, or an on-going project.
--> organize or
participate in study groups before quizzes and exams.
--> complete
and turn in every assignment on time.
