The east end of the loop trail has an open medow with wild flowers(summer)
many red cedar and sweet gum trees. There are many bridges and tree tunnels.
On the west side of the loop there are stands of tall thin trees, tulip poplars,
sycamore and a stand of fairly young beech trees. The trail winds around the
run off creeks, crossing bridges and ever winding. There is a lookout observation
area at the west most point where you can see Harkers Run.
