The Department of Mathematics and Statistics is able to assist several mathematics teachers each summer with Alberta Wolfe Graduate Fellowships in Mathematics Education. Applicants must be candidates for a M.A.T. degree in the department and must enroll for at least 6 hours of approved summer courses that will count toward this degree. They must also be certified to teach secondary school mathematics and have at least one year of full-time mathematics teaching experience.
Alberta Wolfe Fellowships in 2008 are
expected to be at least $1800. The fellowship typically pays for the remaining
tuition costs of summer classes after students receive the TEAM scholarship (http://www.units.muohio.edu/eap/TeamScholarship/)
offered solely to Ohio K-12 teachers in the state of Ohio. In addition, for the summer of 2008 Wolfe
Fellows will be provided with a $300 travel stipend to defray the costs to
attend summer classes in
Oxford. Priority consideration will be given to applications that are
received by April 28, 2008.
