Chair and Professor of Computer Science
- I am in my 25th year on the faculty of the Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering. I have taught a variety of courses -- from introduction to programming courses, to senior level courses in software engineering, algorithms, and computability to graduate courses in software engineering, software design, and formal methods of programming. My research is generally in the area of Software Engineering. My current efforts are in the area of design rationale capture, representation, and analysis; and in software and system risk management.
Associate Dean for Resaerch and Graduate Studies
- Since January 2004, I also have served in the position of Asociate Dean for Research and Graduate Studies in the School of Engineering and Applied Science at Miami Unniversity. In this role, I work with faculty to discuss and encourage their research efforts and to help identify research funding opportunities. I chair the SEAS Research Council. I also support the graduate programs at Miami University. This includes working with departments in assigning graduate assistants, with faculty in creating new graduate programs, and helping to advise graduate students.
