On Women of the Romantic Period (WORP)
Read all of these instructions before going to the page, or hit "back" at the top of the Netscape Navigator Screen when you aren't sure what to do
next.
- Go the UT Austin WORP home page.
- Click on "Move on to WORP"
- Click on any woman writer's name in the "Women Writers" part of the screen or click on her name as it comes up while you are reading Polwhele's
poem "The Unsex'd Females," published in 1798, the same year as the first edition of Wordsworth's and Coleridge's Lyrical Ballads.
- Look at the materials they have gathered (links) for the woman poet whose name you clicked on.
- Then click on the words in blue, "discuss [poet's name]."
- If there are messages already posted by other students (top half of screen), you may wish to read them and respond to them.
- If there are no messages posted there already and/or you have something to say not already being discussed, click on "Start a new thread."
- If you want to point out a link that they have missed, put the link in your message in HTML language: <A HREF="http:// . . .">a woman
poet's poems</A>, using the woman's real name and the full address of the
web site where you have found her works or something about her. The full
address goes between the quotation marks.
