Journal

Today, I am told, is the beginning of the Revolution Controversy. After reading Burke's Reflections on the Revolution in France, I realize that a war is about to begin. I am scared. There is talk about the abolition of the slave trade and the death of Adam Smith. Today I read Blake's poem "Marriage of Heaven and Hell." The poem itself did not seem complete. I will be honest and say that I did not enjoy it that much. I much prefer to read the women writers of today--Williams, Lennox, Opie, and Radcliffe. Likewise I enjoy listening to Beethoven and Mozart--who seem to be extremely popular these days. I enjoy listening to them mainly because their music is so relaxing in days like these where everything around me appears to be stressful. I am afraid--not only of war but all the changes that are happening now. Who knows what tomorrow may bring. I'll have to wait and see I guess.
