January 22, 1793

Yesterday I witnessed the execution of our king. The revolutionaries are absolutely mad with power, taking it upon themselves to execute a monarch! The mob of people who crowded into the streets was huge, and no one dared oppose the impending death of the king. They severed his head in triumph, glorifying the violence that seems to have taken over our nation.

July 18, 1793

Yesterday the revoluationaries took the life of Charlotte Corday, in retaliation for her murder of Marat. There are whisperings that Charlotte's execution is just the beginning of the "Terror" and anyone who does not pledge loyalty to the revolutionaries will share her fate. We are all living in fear, wondering which one of our neighbors will be next--which one will be taken away and killed. The revolutionaries are so paranoid; they will kill anyone who stands in their way.

October 15, 1793

Marie Antoinette is schedlued to be executed tomorrow. Many are sad over her impending death, but none dare show it. I suppose her death will be just as gruesome and bloody as her husband's was many months ago.
