Charge of the Bastille

The members of the Third Estate,
The growing middle class,
Did join together on 17 June
To kick the nobles' ass.

Five days passage and fair Paris
And the clergy then saw red;
They united with the Third Estate
In effect to save their heads.

Three weeks did pass, in hot July
The unruly mob did tempt me,
And we charged and burnt the old Bastille,
But, alas, we found it empty.
