Today was an interesting day. Some of my fellow townspeople decided to storm and take over the prison. Today is the day of the fall of the Bastille. The aristocracy is starting to emigrate. A great change is occurring in the state of France.
Today we marched to Versailles to bring the royal family back to Paris. It was a great effort. conditions were horrible, we were starving and could not feed our families. The need for bread drew us to desperate measures. We are hoping conditions will improve.
The king has tried to flee. He was arrested today and returned to Paris. He's been forced to accept the new constitution which means the Legislative Assembly is on its way.
