This morning, as I walked the streets of Paris, I passed the Bastille and watched as hundreds of angry people surrounded its doors. It brings sadness to my heart that there must be revolution for us to live in peace. I am curious as to what this will lead to.
After all of this fighting and hardship, it seems that we have gotten nowhere. The pope has condemned the constitution that we have been so strongly striving for. Could our war have been all in vain?
We are living in a reign of terror. Today, 12,000 prisoners were slaughtered. We must come to face that fact that our goals for this revolution have not been attained! We are failing, and thousands of innocent lives are being taken for it.
