As I was walking to work at the mill today, I ran into Father Runyon. He told me how the priests and nuns of France had allied themselves with the Revolutionaries. This surprised me because I had thought that the clergy was predominantly supportive of the monarchy.
Today workers from the mill rushed to the Bastille prison, freeing the political prisoners who opposed monarchical oppression. Within minutes we see the seine jammed with boats; the aristocracy has packed their stuff and decided to flee.
My wife and her friends, hungry and concerned for their children, have marched to Versailles in order to get the King and Queen to come back to Paris and help the people deal with the terrible problems plaguing the capitol.
