Get into groups of two. Look through the chronology from the year 1789 on at all events having to do with the French Revolution. Pick three events, and pretend that you lived through them in some way. Write a poem or journal entries or letters to someone describing the events as if you participated in them (The Revolution Books of William Wordsworth's The Prelude [Mellor and Matlak 643-51] provide one example of such writing). If you need to find out more about the events you choose, ask me (I'll be wandering about the room) or follow some of the links in the chronology that give you more information.
