Notice that the text between <head></head> in each <div> becomes the title of that section of your text in the Contents of the transformed document; notice also what the <gap/> code produces:

- Because of wanting to discuss three things about the "extent" of the current document, its size, file type, and location, I used the segment code inside <extent></extent>
- The byline in frontmatter gives the name as it appears on the title page (I have used brackets around "anonymous," because of course the title page didn't say "anonymous" on it).
- In the body of the document, I used "preface" and "letter" as types of divisions, specifying the Letter number.
- The code <gap/> inserts an ellipsis in the transformed version: you can produce much information within <gap></gap> tags, including a description of the omitted text, a reason for omission, responsibility for omitting, and extent of omission.
