My childhood was spent in Ohio and South Carolina. Later, I earned my BA in Psychology at the Univ. of Cincinnati in 1990 and my Ph.D. in Psychology from Indiana Univ. in 1995. Throughout school, I held a number of jobs ranging from being a secretary to selling electronics to summer camps in Cincinnati and in Wolfeboro, NH. Since grad school, I've been a professor at Penn State (1995-97) and Michigan State (1997-2000) before coming to Miami in 2000. Recently, I lived in Chicago for two years and enjoyed my sabbatical at the Univ. of Chicago.
In my spare time, I enjoy traveling and photography, diverse music, golf, running, college basketball (Michigan State and IU) and football (Ohio State and Michigan State), technology, astronomy, politics and history, architecture (Pei and Wright), impressionism (Monet and Pissarro), some TV (Scrubs, Lost, The Office, Countdown), and riding rollercoasters at Cedar Point. I enjoy spending time with my friends from summer camp and those in social psychology. Finally, I love good food and drink, whether it's over-the-top restaurants or great hole-in-the-wall dives. |
