For each of the interaction events that you are able to observe lets focus on:

·Who initiated the interaction? (keep track of the sex of the initiator!)

Try to summarize your observations with regard to the gender issue. Try to determine whether boys or girls are interacted with more frequently by the teachers.Do male or female children initiate interactions more frequently.Do teachers initiate interactions with boys or girls more frequently.Try to draw upon content in your McDevitt-Ormrod text as possible explanations for your observations. When we return to class we might construct a 2 x 2 table with frequencies in the cells that might indicate whether male or female teachers interact more frequently with male or female students.
