Purpose:
We invite you
to a symposium highlighting the American Psychological Association’s sponsorship
of the Preparing Future Faculty program. This open forum is intended
allow for participants to share experiences within and exchange ideas about
the PFF program, inform graduate students about the lives of PFF Partner
campus psychologists, and provide opportunities for undergraduates to engage
in professional psychological development. The undergraduate
poster session showcases research conducted on any of the campuses involved
with the tri-state APA/PFF program. This symposium is targeted for
not only current PFF Faculty and Scholars, but also for future Scholars,
interested faculty, and undergraduates at PFF affiliated institutions.

3:00p.m.
Undergraduate
Poster Session and Reception, 103 Benton
Students and Faculty from across the tri-state PFF
Program will have the opportunity to discuss current undergraduate research
projects. The poster session is aimed at providing a opportunity
for undergraduates to showcase their research, to disseminate findings,
and to stimulate discussion and examination of psychological theory, methodology
and analysis.
4:00p.m.
Undergraduates Meet with Miami Graduate Students, 103
Benton
Representatives from Miami University’s Psychology graduate
student body will discuss with undergraduate students what graduate school
is really like.
Miami Faculty and Administrators Welcome Faculty from
Partner Institutions, 207 Benton
Welcoming messages from Psychology Chair Karen Schilling,
Dean Robert Johnson of the Graduate School, and Provost Ronald Crutcher.
Dr. Milt Cox, Director of Teaching Effectiveness programs, will also invite
partner faculty to attend Miami's Lilly Conference on College Teaching.
5:00p.m.
PFF Partner Faculty meet with Miami graduate students,
132 Benton
PFF Partner Faculty will share information and answer
questions asked by graduate students regarding Partner campuses and potential
activities for PFF Scholars on their campus.
Undergraduates Meet with Miami Graduate School Program,
103 Benton
Representatives from Miami University’s graduate program
in Psychology will be on hand to discuss the admission process, the program,
and to answer any questions undergraduates might have about graduate study
and qualification.
