I am writing to apply for the position of Assistant Professor of Psychology.  I am currently a graduate student at Miami University working on a dissertation under the direction of Dr. My Advisor, and fully expect to complete all work for the Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology by MONTH YEAR.

I believe that (several things) make me an excellent candidate for this position.  Given the requirements listed in your job advertisement, I feel I am a good fit for this position; I have experience teaching most of the courses listed and would be excited to develop new preparations for the others.  In addition, I have a strong commitment to continuing my line of research.
