Electoral Maps
I am currently adding maps into this feature. Users can select maps displaying the plurality win in each polling place, the percentage of votes selected parties received in each election displayed by polling place, and maps showing the areas of strength of weakness for each party by election. Maps representing similar results at the constiuency or county level can be accessed through reference to the various papers that I have delivered (Wittmund, Bremervörde). After the data is compiled and the polling places boundaries have been created in the GIS, it takes approximately 200 hours to create make a full set of election maps.
Each of the maps accessible through this page open in a separate window. When the map appears, click on it to enlarge. Multiple windows map be opened at the same time for comparison. Please return to this page to navigate between maps.

The maps showing the percentage of votes received by individual parties use a Jenks natural break display. The maps displaying the standard deviation (Stan. Dev.) are particularly useful indicators of areas of party strength in a given election. The maps displaying plurality winners are a similarly useful way to indicate village political dominance.
