St. Petersburg. In the Printing House of V. Plavil'shchinov, 1816.

This book is written in both Russian and French, the language spoken by the nobility since the early 18th century. It provides outstanding prints of the sights, especially the architecture, of St. Petersburg.

The New Stock Exchange was built between 1805-1810 by Thomas de Thomon. The building was designed to be part of the urban landscape, fitting into the surrounding buildings and activities on Strelka Square on Vasilevshii Island.
