The Zhou group is moving!

Prof. Hongcai Zhou has accepted a position as Professor of Chemistry at Texas A&M University, his PhD alma mater.  This exciting transition has already begun, with the entire group making the move summer 2008. See Dr. Zhou's webpage at the Texas A&M Department of Chemistry for more details.

Metal-Organic Frameworks Symposium at the ACS National Meeting

Calling all MOF researchers!  Please attend the special symposium  "Metal-Organic Frameworks: What Are They Good For?" sponsored by the ACS Division of Inorganic Chemistry at the 235th ACS National Meeting in New Orleans.  There will be five oral presentation sessions, including both invited talks and contributed talks, and a poster session will also be held.

Postdoctoral Research Fellow positions available in the Zhou group

Seeking Postdoctoral Research Fellows (two positions) to conduct organic synthesis, metal-organic framework synthesis, x-ray crystallographic data collection, structure solution and refinement, and manuscript writing.  Requires a Ph.D. in chemistry and training in organic/inorganic synthesis and x-ray crystallography.  Desire a familiarity with standard Schlenk and glove box techniques and good writing and communication skills.

8th Annual Ohio Inorganic Meeting

The Zhou group welcomes inorganic chemists from Ohio and beyond as Miami University hosts the 8th Annual Ohio Inorganic Meeting on November 9-10, 2007.

UPDATE: The meeting was a great success.  Thanks to all who participated!  Next year's meeting will be at the University of Toledo, dates TBA (contact Joe Schmidt or Mark Mason for information).
